Realizations: The Butterfly Effect
Today, I finally got the chance to watch The Butterfly Effect starring Ashton Kutcher. Watching this film, I realized that simple things in our lives can greatly affect our future. A simple word we say can change our lives forever. It is true. But the problem is we are not like Evan. We don’t have any powers to return and fix the mess. Even if how good our intentions are we can’t go back in time to correct the wrong things we’ve done all we can do is learn from that mistake we’ve done. But of course, for Evan it was different. He had black-outs. He doesn’t know what he was doing. And for him being given the chance to changed the past, he tried his best to make everything fine for the people he cared about. And just like him all of us would want to see the lives of our loved ones be in order.
The ending of the film was sad. Bitter. But he just accepted the fact that they can’t be together without anyone getting hurt. It was his decision, it was his choice. He could have said Hi to her and run after her but he accepted that Kayleigh’s life might be better without him. That simple threat that he said to Kayleigh changed their lives forever but what is important that in his heart he tried to work things out between them but of course he decides to let go so that their lives will be in order. But of course, for me Evan should have taken the chance of meeting Kayleigh again maybe this time around it will be way much better than he could have imagine. When I saw the last part, I look carefully into Kayleigh’s eyes and I saw that there was something deep inside of her that knows Evan. The Evan that loves her so much that he would rather stay away in order for her to live a life peacefully.
If I have the power that Evan have, I would have used it many times. But I realized, that we have to stand with our decisions may it be wrong or right cause who knows what might happen in a single flash…
Just like Back to the Future movies and Click our lives must not be full of regrets we must fill our live with positivity. We only lived once in our lives so let us make the most out of it. I hope to be more positive in my life so that I will no longer regret my decisions. I will no longer wish to God to rewind back time.
